PERFORMANCES
“In performance art, I try to connect with the audience by taking the risk of improvising, improvising with musicians, improvising without deciding anything beforehand, asking people in the audience to dance with me and maybe directing them spontaneously. In comparison to my research work, which requires lots of time to create, I try in my performances to communicate directly with the people there and to find a solution together. I enjoy that form a lot as I have great freedom and the audience, too, who can possibly participate. I for instance happened to dance with the shoes of a lady from the audience or the hat of a man while having a gardener dance. When I do that, I like to be accompanied by musicians who know how to support me and share ideas, such as Peter Corser or Joël Grare. Those are often magical and unexpected moments.”
